JURA extends co-operation with 13 Grand Slam Winner and Olympic Gold Medalist Roger Federer
Niederbuchsiten, 15. September 2008 – JURA, the Swiss innovation leader in automatic household coffee machines and Roger Federer, one of the greatest tennis players in history, have extended their partnership to the year 2016. Roger Federer becomes the long-term worldwide brand ambassador for the Swiss premium brand. Roger Federer has represented the Swiss brand JURA since August 2006.
Thanks to the cooperation with Roger Federer, JURA's brand awareness has grown worldwide. JURA General Manager Emanuel Probst says: "Roger Federer shares a lot of values with JURA: heritage, precision, hard work and a passion for excellence." Thanks to the 'Federer effect' JURA' sales have grown faster. "To have him as an ambassador helps us to open many doors and increases our brand awareness" says Probst. Federer is an important factor in the growth of the Swiss company. In 2007 JURA grew 18.2% to CHF 384 millions. In the last ten years, JURA has quintupled its revenues.
For Probst, Roger Federer is not only a great tennis player, but someone with a modest and downto-earth personality. He is a global star with none of the trappings of success. "Now that the battle for the number one position in tennis has taken on a new dimension, the interest surrounding Federer has actually increased. That adds even greater value to our brand" says Probst. Roger Federer is looking forward to the further cooperation: "Coffee specialities have become a global phenomenon. As an avid coffee drinker, I am very happy and excited to help JURA further develop its brand worldwide."
JURA Elektroapparate AG, a Swiss company with worldwide operations, leads the field in fully automatic home coffee machines. Founded in Niederbuchsiten, Solothurn in 1931, the company has 282 employees at home and 243 abroad working with its foreign distributors. JURA’s consolidated revenues in 2007 totalled CHF 384 million, 13.3% of which was generated in Switzerland and 86.7% by international markets.

India beat Australia to win the CB series
India survived a valiant fightback from Australia to win a thrilling second Commonwealth Bank final by nine runs and claim the series 2-0.
Sachin Tendulkar made 91 in India's 258 for nine after winning the toss and batting, following his match-winning 117 not out in the first game at Sydney.
Fond farewell: Gilchrist departs the scene for the final time
Praveen Kumar claimed four for 46, including the wickets of Adam Gilchrist (2) and Ricky Ponting (1) to have Australia reeling on eight for two, before the world champions took it down to the last over.
Irfan Pathan sealed the nine-run win, removing Nathan Bracken (1) and ending James Hopes' defiant 63-run innings in the space of four balls as Australia were bowled out for 249 in 49.4 overs.
Earlier on, off-spinner Harbhajan Singh had run out Matthew Hayden (55), before trapping Andrew Symonds leg-before (42) to bring to an end an 89-run fourth-wicket stand.
Hopes hit a six in the penultimate over, leaving Australia needing 14 runs from six balls to level the series and force a third match in Adelaide, only for Pathan to hold his nerve, taking his first wickets of the finals series to spark Indian jubilation.
All credit has to go the Indians for the way they played over the last week, they deserve the trophy," said Ponting, who put down a difficult chance when Tendulkar was on seven.
Tendulkar shared a 94-run opening stand with Robin Uthappa (30) and a 54-run partnership for the third wicket with Yuvraj Singh, who returned to form with 38 from 33 balls.
But he was out nine runs short of what would have been a 43rd ODI century when Ponting held a diving catch at short mid-on off Clarke's bowling.
The Australian pacemen had difficulty containing the Indian top order on a pitch ideally suited to batting, with Ponting relying on part-timer Clarke for 10 overs, and he returned figures of three for 52.
Bracken hit back in his last two overs, removing Irfan Pathan (12) and skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni (36) in the 48th over and Praveen Kumar (7) in the last to finish with figures of three for 31.

Meet the Spartans (movie)
After successfully skewering Hollywood's scariest movie (as two of the
writers on Scary Movie), romantic comedy franchises (Date Movie), and
Hollywood blockbusters (Epic Movie), writers/directors/producers Jason
Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer now set their sights on 300. The heroic
Leonidas, armed with nothing by leather underwear and a cape, leads a
ragtag group of 13 - count 'em, 13! -- Spartans to defend their
homeland against the invading Persians (whose ranks include Ghost
Rider, Rocky Balboa, the Transformers, and a hunchbacked Paris Hilton)..

James Bond's New Movie
The next James Bond film will be called Quantum of Solace, and it will dazzle fans of Agent 007 with even more action scenes than its high-grossing predecessor, its producers said. The title of the movie, until now provisionally called Bond 22, was revealed in London, where filming is already underway. The film stars Daniel Craig as Bond and is directed by Marc Forster.
Producers have revealed some of the secrets about the latest James Bond film, due for release later this year, including the inner turmoil that drives its suave superagent hero and its title: "Quantum of Solace."
As titles go, it's not as mellifluous as "From Russia With Love" or "Goldfinger." But Daniel Craig, returning as Bond after 2006's "Casino Royale," says he likes it.
